History
Founded in 1877, Arthur Ellis is a wholly
owned subsidiary of Donaghys Ltd, New Zealand's
oldest publicly listed company. It had its
beginnings when Ephraim Ellis, a hand loom
weaver from Yorkshire, imported a flock machine
and set up his own flock mill. His son Arthur
entered the business as an apprentice and
quickly built upon his fathers legacy. Arthur
Ellis was owned by international company Northern
Feather for a time before being brought by
Donaghys in 1991.

and camping manufacturer in New Zealand.
Our international brand names, Fairydown,

and respected for their quality and design.
